Tango marathons are aimed at experienced dancers who are not interested in the lessons, shows and live music featured at festivals. The number of participants is limited and proportionate to the surface of the dance floor and above all balanced by gender. Usually in marathons there is dancing from 10 to 12 hours a day and in general the dancers, accustomed to these rhythms, come from many countries and have a high level of dance.

Le maratone di tango sono rivolte a ballerini esperti che non sono interessati alle lezioni, agli spettacoli e alla musica dal vivo presenti nei festivals. Il numero di partecipanti è limitato e proporzionato alla superfice della pista da ballo e soprattutto equilibrato per genere. Di solito nelle marathons si balla dalle 10 alle 12 ore al giorno ed in generale i ballerini, abituati a questi ritmi, provengono da molti paesi ed hanno un alto livello di ballo.
